- Last Supper = Sunday Dec. 28 at Planet Pizza @ 12:20pm. Junior and senior high meet for pizza on the "last" Sunday of each month to eat, celebrate birthdays, and have fun. When Jesus met with his disciples for “The Last Supper,” they not only shared a meal together, they were also spending time together as friends. For our "last supper" FBC covers the cost of each junior and senior high student to have access to the pizza buffet and drink fountain. Lastly, families and other friends from church are welcome to join us at a cost of $5 per person.
- New Year's Eve party at FBC. Doors open at 7pm, the Big Bang starts at 7:30pm.

The Plan:
- Leave after school at around 4:30pm (or later) on Friday the 16th
- Ski Saturday & Sunday at Asessippi (4 hours north on Hwy 83 in Canada)
- Hang out in the evenings.
- Return to Minot on Sunday night at around 11pm
You should also know that the Minot school system does not have classes on Jan. 19, so the students have a day to recover.
The Cost: $145
All main expenses are covered, including: transportation, 2 nights lodging, 2 days of lift tickets, and meals.
Rentals: Renting shaped skis brings your total cost to $175. Renting a snowboard brings it to $185.
If you are interested in going, I need your registration forms and payment by Sunday, January 11. Late registrations will cost $20 more. Reserve your spot on the bus soon, we have limited seats. You must fill out the registration and release forms below.
Not a Skier?
If you have not skied before or are an inexperienced skier, you should know that I have helped students get from the bunny hill to intermediate (blue square) runs on every ski trip I have gone on. While I am not an expert skier, I am a patient teacher that buys hot chocolate for the learners. So, you should come because we will have more fun with you. Plus, there is a tubing hill if you can’t hack it.
Crossing the Border
Documentation is required to cross into Canada and back into the US. You can download the border entry permission form on our youth website. Everyone is also required to have some form of identification (driver’s license, birth certificate, military ID, passport).
To summarize, here is a list of documents required to register for the Senior High Ski Retreat:
Youth Sunday school
- The leadership of FBC are experimenting with the Sunday worship schedule to accommodate a higher level of attendance
- The new schedule significantly affected the Sunday school schedule
- We now host a youth Sunday school at 11am for junior and senior high students
- If youth want to attend Sunday school at 9:45am, they are encouraged to attend one of the adult classes
Senior high small groups
For those of you who don’t know, we have hosted small groups on Sunday nights about once or twice a month. However, the ministry leaders felt that this time frame and frequency was not adequate or beneficial. So, we discussed a variety of options and decided to incorporate this concept with our existing Sunday school class. The plan is to separate the students by gender during Sunday school for three out of four Sundays. Since there are so many girls, they will also be separated by grade (9-10th graders and 11-12th graders). At least once a month, we will combine all the groups for a large group learning session.
